Leeds interested in Karl Darlow

Leeds United are thought to be wanting to add a goalkeeper to their ranks in the January transfer window.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side have just Bailey Peacock-Farrell as their only senior ‘keeper available after Jamal Blackman suffered a broken leg.

The Whites have been linked with a number of options recently, however, a new name appears to have come into the fold.

According to a report by The Sun, Leeds are credited with an interest in Newcastle United’s Karl Darlow.

The 28-year-old, who is currently injured with an elbow problem, has seen his chances of first-team football diminish following the arrival of Martin Dubravka, who has impressed since being at St. James’ Park.

It is claimed that the Darlow wants to move on and could be willing to go to the Championship for regular football, although it remains to be seen if Rafa Benitez will allow him to go.

The Verdict:

Leeds will likely want to add a goalkeeper to their ranks in the summer and Darlow could be a great addition for the side.

The former Nottingham Forest shot-stopper has a vast amount of experience of the Championship and helped Newcastle win back promotion to the Premier League as champions.

However, with the interest in the £4.05million-rated ‘keeper, as per Transfermarkt, and doubts that Benitez may let him leave, Leeds could find it difficult to land him in January.
