Leeds United will be desperate to return to winning ways after losing 2-1 against Nathan Jones’ Stoke City away from home yesterday.
The Whites remain in pole position in the race for the Championship title but things will need to improve if they are to go all the way, with a couple of signings this month boosting their chances.
It appears as if the Yorkshire club are eyeing a move for a central midfielder, as according to France Football, Leeds United are interested in signing Mehdi Abeid.
Interestingly, the Dijon FCO midfielder is out of contract at the end of the current campaign.
He was once on the books at Newcastle United for a span of four years but he failed to make an impact.
However, he has been performing well over in France, scoring three goals in 13 appearances, so it comes as no surprise that Leeds are eyeing a potential move.
The Algerian international has been one of the standout performers at current club Dijon FCO in the current campaign, with his passing and tackling ability helping them out in all areas of the field. And, with three goals to his name at this moment in time, he could also have a positive impact on proceedings in the final third.
The likes of Mateusz Klich, Adam Forshaw and Kalvin Phillips will be hard to budge in the middle of midfield, but Abeid has certainly displayed plenty of ability this season.
