Leeds keen on signing Gyasi Zardes next summer

Leeds United could are thought to be in the market to land an experienced international attacker in the summer.

TeamTALK are claiming Gyasi Zardes is on the Whites’ radar after an impressive MLS campaign with Columbus Crew, having scored 20 times in his 36 appearances.

The 27-year-old is extremely versatile and can play anywhere across the front-line, which would make him a really attractive addition.

However, the 40-capped United States of America international has plenty of possible destinations to choose from, should he decide to leave North America.

It is understood Leeds could have a battle on their hands with teams from the Premier League and the Championship to try and land him, making a potential move appear ambitious.

The likes of Crystal Palace, Huddersfield Town, Fulham, Middlesbrough and Norwich have all thought to have shown an interest in Zardes.

The Verdict:

Zardes could be an excellent addition for Leeds and could be exactly the type of player they might need next season.

Obviously, that will depend on what division Marcelo Bielsa’s side are playing their football in and could also be a deciding factor for the American.

With a number of clubs after him, Leeds will likely need to be in the Premier League next season for them to have any chance of bringing him to Elland Road in the summer.
