Things might start to be looking up for Leeds United this summer as they look to make inroads with their recruitment drive.
The Whites have had a frustrating time since Marcelo Bielsa’s appointment as manager as they have failed to land a number of their main targets.
The club are desperate to add a number of players to their squad this summer as they prepare to challenge for a place in the Premier League, however, things have proved to be difficult over the past couple of months.
But, the situation at Leeds could be about to change as reports are suggesting that the club could be about to complete a shock signing.
According to The Daily Mail, the club have reached an agreement with Wolverhampton Wanderers about signing Barry Douglas, with it also being claimed the club have also agreed to personal terms with the player.
The player was considered one of the best at Molineux last season, however, with the imminent arrival of Jonny Castro from Atletico Madrid, it is thought Nuno Espirito Santo is prepared to offload him.
Douglas would be an excellent signing for Leeds this summer as he would immediately help to improve the Elland Road outfit.
The wing-back was one of the Championship’s standout players last season and would certainly add a winning mentality to Bielsa’s squad ahead of the upcoming campaign.
The Argentine will still want to add more players to his squad, however, the arrival of Douglas is definitely a solid start.
