Whatever way you look at things where Leeds United are concerned, Marcelo Bielsa has certainly made his mark on the Yorkshire outfit.
When he first arrived in England, player recruitment appeared to be the first order of business and it seems this summer will be no different from the last.
The Argentine made it clear who was a part of his squad and who was not, and it seems that he has already told one individual that his future is not at the club.
What’s the News?
According to a report by Football Insider, Bielsa has no plans for Laurens De Bock and wants him to leave Leeds permanently this summer.
The former Belgium Under-21 international has been out on loan at K.V. Oostende this season, however, things have not gone quite to plan and it appears he will be returning to Elland Road at the end of the campaign.
De Bock has been nothing but a disappointment for Leeds during his time at the club and it is hardly a surprise to hear that Bielsa does not want him at the club beyond the summer.
The £1.53million signing (Transfermarkt) did not work out as the Whites had originally planned and the Argentine appeared to freeze him out of the squad as soon as he took over at Elland Road last summer.
He struggled to adapt to the Championship in his first six months in Yorkshire and he does not appear to have improved during his time away from the club either if the claims that Oostende are not prepared to turn his loan spell into a permanent stay are anything to go by.
Regardless of what division Leeds find themselves in next season, De Bock certainly is not good enough for the club and offloading him makes complete sense.
That said, the Whites must look to strengthen the left-back position in the summer and make it a priority of theirs.
Leeds fans, do you think you can offload De Bock this summer? Is the club right to? Join in with the discussion below by sharing your thoughts with us.
