Leeds United could still be handed a lifeline in their pursuit for one of their top transfer targets this summer.
Marcelo Bielsa is keen to make a number of additions to his squad during the transfer window as he looks to reshape his side for the upcoming Championship campaign.
The Whites, with the managerial coup they managed to pull off a couple of months ago, are expected to be challenging for a place in next season’s Premier League, however, their recruitment drive this summer has left a lot to be desired.
However, one man that they targeted and failed to agree to terms with was Matej Vydra, and according to reports, a move to Elland Road is not yet finished. Sky Sports are claiming that Leeds and the Derby County striker are still in discussions about his personal terms.
The Rams need a deal to go through so they can sign Martyn Waghorn and Jack Marriott, which could help the Whites’ chances of securing a deal for the Czech Republic international.
There appears to be some hope for Leeds in their pursuit of adding a talented striker to their ranks this season.
Vydra appeared highly on Bielsa’s list this summer and are thought to have had a deal fall through because of his wage demands.
However, with Derby now desperate to offload him, and with other strikers heading to Pride Park, Leeds may be able to get the striker to reduce his terms and finally bring him to Elland Road.
