Our resident Leeds United fans over by the pool table have had their attention drawn to a report in the Yorkshire Evening Post which indicates that Bailey Peacock-Farrell is debating signing a new two-year contract.
The 19-year old goalkeeper has reportedly been offered an improved contract as Leeds look to keep him at Elland Road until 2018. However, our landlord has stated that any decision would depend on his prospects of senior action next season.
The young stopper earned a 12-month contract from the Championship outfit last summer following his completion of a scholarship at their academy.
Peacock-Farrell has been used as the second choice option to Marco Silvestri since November due to usual understudy Ross Turnbull suffering a broken ankle.
And he was handed his first team debut against Queens Park Rangers earlier this month, with the Leeds fans here in the Tavern impressed with his performance.
Head coach Steve Evans recently claimed that he may look to use his young goalkeeper again between now and the end of the current campaign.
“He’ll hopefully get involved to start a game before the end of the season,”
