Leeds not expecting to be busy in January - Championship

Leeds United have suffered with a number of injuries this season, which has seen Marcelo Bielsa’s squad go to its bare bones at times.

The Argentine has been without some of his key players for important moments throughout the campaign, however, that does not appear to have stalled their progress within the Championship.

The Whites currently sit at the summit and still look like a side that will challenge for promotion towards the end of the season.

The likes of Patrick Bamford, Luke Ayling and Izzy Brown are expected to be back in the new year, which appears to have had an impact on the club’s January transfer plans.

According to a report by the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds do not expect to be busy this winter and will look to keep their current squad altogether.

The Verdict:

Although keeping the squad together would be a priority for Leeds, some new faces in the January winter would not necessarily be a bad thing and it could concern fans that they do not plan to be active.

As mentioned, the club have struggled with a number of injuries already and could do with providing some extra options, despite Bielsa liking to work with a limited squad.

However, with the returns of Bamford, Brown and Ayling to come, they will likely feel like new signings once again and could help the Whites keep the pace in and around the summit of what will be a gruelling Championship season.
