Leeds’ Paudie O’Connor set to join Bradford on loan

Leeds United could be about to send another player out on loan imminently.

Paudie O’Connor could be about to join both Conor Shaughnessy and Lewie Coyle in leaving Elland Road on temporary deals.

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, the defender is thought to be poised to complete a switch to Bradford City.

The 21-year-old is set to have a medical with the League One side after terminating his deal with Blackpool prematurely.

O’Connor made just 17 appearances for The Tangerines, with 10 coming in the league, and will now look to get extra game time at Bradford.

Marcelo Bielsa does not appear to have any plans for the Irishman in his first-team at the moment as they currently sit at the top of the Championship.

The Verdict:

O’Connor is an exciting prospect and a move to Bradford could be what is needed for the player to continue his development.

The 21-year-old found it difficult to play a part in Blackpool’s League One campaign, however, he is likely to get more of a chance at Valley Parade as they continue to struggle at the wrong end of the division.

O’Connor has made a handful of appearances for the Whites in the past – all coming in the final stages of last season – and will be looking to give Bielsa something to think about during his time at Bradford.
