Leeds reject bids for Samu Saiz

With Marcelo Bielsa’s need to bring in additions to Leeds United this summer, he is in no position to let some of this best players leave.

The Argentine is trying to improve his squad in order to mount a charge for Premier League football next season, however, he is struggling to bring in the bodies that he feels would allow them to compete.

It has been understood that he wants around four players to join him this summer, but he continuously hits stumbling blocks when trying to land some of his targets.

Bielsa has allowed a number of his fringe players leave the club, whether it be temporarily or permanently, however, he is not interested in losing any of his star players, even if it means receiving a large fee for them.

According to a report by Fichajes, the Spanish media outlet are claiming that both Valencia and Getafe are interested in Samu Saiz and have made bids for the attacking midfielder.

It is believed one offer is around 7million euros, whilst another is considered to be around the 10million euro mark.

The Verdict:

Saiz was a revelation for Leeds last season following his arrival from Huesca during the opening stages of the season.

He started his Whites career at a blistering pace and quickly became a fan favourite at Elland Road, however, he saw his form drop during the second half of the season. He also incurred a six-game ban from the FA for spitting.

Saiz is a key man at Leeds, despite last season’s antics, and Bielsa would be right in trying to keep his star man, especially as they struggle to bring anyone else to the club this summer.
