Leeds United supporters were in high spirits in the Transfer Tavern over the weekend after seeing their side get back to winning ways in the Championship by sweeping aside Bristol City 3-0 at Ashton Gate on Saturday.
Thomas Christiansen’s men went into that clash against the Robins having lost their past three league games on the spin, and three on the trot on the road as well. However, they banished any possible concerns about their away form by comfortably dispatching Lee Johnson’s men, with a brace from Samuel Saiz and a Pierre Michel Lasogga strike propelling the Yorkshire giants up to fourth in the Championship table, yet still six points behind leaders Wolves.
And a return to winning ways delighted our resident Leeds fans, and they are likely to be further intrigued by a recent report from Football Insider, which suggests that the Whites are keeping tabs on Norway starlet Abdul-Basit Agouda.
The 18-year-old forward currently plays his trade at Stromsgodset and has done so since 2016, and although he has only appeared three times for the first team, he has managed two goals in that time.
Yet with his contract up at the end of the current campaign, Agouda has seen first team opportunities hard to come by, and having reportedly rejected two contract offers, the 18-year-old could well be on the lookout for a move in the coming transfer windows.
And Leeds are one side reportedly keeping an eye on the youngster’s situation ahead of a possible move in January, but with other suitors also in the race, it remains to be seen where Agouda is playing his trade come the end of the season.
Landlord’s verdict: Leeds United saw star striker Chris Wood leave the club during the summer, and although they have managed well in his absence in recent months, taking 27 goals out of the team is eventually going to catch up with them.
And with things not going particularly well recently, having lost four of their last six Championship games, it’s not overly surprising to see the Whites linked with a forward, namely Norwegian starlet Abdul-Basit Agouda.
The 18-year-old has been making huge strides in his homeland and is attracting interest from several English suitors, and with his contract up at Stromsgodset at the end of the campaign, his future is far from clear.
And with Leeds likely in need of further attacking reinforcements in January, they may well seek to make a move come the New Year.
