Leeds United do not appear to have given up in their quest to bring a winger to Elland Road.
Although the club will now have to wait until the summer to conclude any further business, unless they sign a free agent, it appears The Whites are already keeping tabs on one individual.
According to a report by The Daily Record, Motherwell’s Jake Hastie is thought to be a target of Marcelo Bielsa’s and could be available for a cut-price developmental fee as he is believed to be some way from agreeing to a new contract at Fir Park.
The 19-year-old is a wide player who can play out on the left and has been attracting interest with his performances for the Scottish Premiership side.
Leeds are not believed to be the only Championship side keen on him, with the likes of Norwich City, West Bromwich Albion and Swansea all with scouts in attendance, whilst League One outfit Sunderland are also monitoring him.
And, Hastie will not have done his chances of impressing any harm in the game as he scored a spectacular goal on the night.
Hastie is an exciting prospect and appears to have a bright future ahead of him in the game if his performances for Motherwell are anything to go by.
The 19-year-old has impressed with his attacking play this season since breaking into the Scottish Premiership outfit’s first-team and it is not surprising to see a number of clubs interested in him.
Leeds, following the whole Daniel James debacle, are still desperate to find a winger and Hastie could be one man that could fill that role on the left well in the future.
