Leeds set to battle Championship duo for Ed Williams

Leeds set to battle Championship duo for Ed Williams

Leeds United are thought to be one of a number of Championship clubs tracking one of the non-league’s brightest talents.

According to the Non-League Paper, the Whites are believed to be keeping an eye on Kidderminster Harriers’ Ed Williams.

The midfielder has been impressive during the opening stages of the National League North season and has already netted six times in seven appearances.

The 23-year-old’s form has also led to him getting a call-up to England’s C squad, whilst a number of Championship outfits have also taken notice.

Leeds will need to compete with Aston Villa and Derby County for Williams, despite the player having only joined Kidderminster in the summer from Gloucester City.

The Whites, who have taken players from non-league in the past, are thought to be extremely keen on the midfielder and have sent scouts to watch him in action.

The Verdict:

Williams is certainly proving to be an exciting talent at the moment and could be just one of the latest players to make the jump into the professional game.

His performances for Kidderminster have been nothing short of impressive and he has clearly shown that he has the potential to go further in the game.

However, Leeds will face stiff competition from Aston Villa and Derby for his services, whilst the Harriers are unlikely going to want to lose their star man any time soon.
