Leeds United appear to have already struck a deal for an exciting prospect to join them at Elland Road in the summer.
According to a report by The Scottish Sun, Motherwell’s Stuart McKinstry will join the Championship outfit at the end of the season.
The winger is understood to have travelled to Yorkshire earlier this week to secure a deal to happen over the summer.
The 16-year-old will continue his development with his current club and will still be available to play.
It is understood Leeds will pay an initial £150,000 for the winger, but it could rise to around £400,000 should he break into Marcelo Bielsa’s first-team, which is something that could realistically happen.
The Whites are also believed to have seen off some fierce competition to sign the teenager, with Southampton having taken an interest in the Scotland Under-17 international.
McKinstry is an exciting prospect and with the guidance at Thorp Arch, he could develop into one of Leeds’ next big players.
The 16-year-old has already been winning plaudits in the youth ranks at Fir Park this season and has been included in matchday squads for Motherwell’s first-team this year.
With a fee of £400,000 having to be potentially paid in total, Leeds could have a future star on their hands for what would have to be considered a bargain fee.
