Leeds United returned to the top of the Championship table at the weekend following a 2-1 victory against Wigan Athletic on Sunday.
Marcelo Bielsa would have been pleased to see the way his side reacted after going a goal down to get all three points.
However, it appears that he still has a desire to bring new players to the Elland Road outfit in January, as scouts were thought to have been in attendance at a game in Europe.
The striker is well known by Bielsa, as the current Whites chief signed him for French outfit Lille on a temporary deal from AS Roma, before his current spell in Greece.
The 21-year-old has failed to hit the heights with the Serie A outfit, however, he appears to have rediscovered his form, having netted five goals in eight games this season.
Ponce would certainly be a great addition to the Leeds setup, however, it is likely that a move would not be able to take place until the summer, as he is on a season-long loan with AEK.
Bielsa has already worked with the youngster, who was once labelled as Argentina’s next big thing and compared to the great Gabriel Batistuta and could look to get the best out of him.
Ponce has already shown that he could be on the verge of hitting those great heights again after picking up a serious knee injury, however, it remains to be seen if he will be available at some point in the near future.
