Leeds United fans here in the Tavern are looking forward to the summer transfer window, as a number of fresh faces could help them challenge for promotion next season.
Paul Heckingbottom will be looking to improve his squad over the course of the summer transfer window, as Leeds failed to ensure consistency throughout the campaign. And, it looks as if the Whites are closing in on a potential summer signing, as according to Gazetta Mercato, Leeds United agreed a €3.5 million (£3 million) deal for Carpi striker Jerry Mbakogu on Saturday.
It’s believed that Leeds struck a €3.5 million (£3 million) deal with Carpi for striker Jerry Mbakogu on Saturday, with the forward set to sign a four-year deal with the club until 2022.
The Nigerian has managed to bag himself eight goals and has provided three assists in 27 games in all competitions this term, and has been linked with a move to Leeds since the January transfer window.
Many of our local residents are unsure on whether the club is making the right decision, as Jerry Mbakogu may not be good enough to make the step up to the Championship. Although, the striker has been rather impressive in the current campaign, so Leeds will be keen to see how he does if the deal goes through.
