Leeds United fans in the bar at the Transfer Tavern will be interested to hear that the club continue to be linked with Benfica full-back Alexis Scholl. Oosh!
The Yorkshire Evening Post suggests that Garry Monk wants to add the Belgian U19 international to his ranks as he readies his squad for the upcoming season.
Scholl is a product of Anderlecht’s youth system and he made his debut for Benfica’s reserve team on 12 September last year.
He was loaned to Belgian giants Gent for the second half of last season but failed to make an appearance for De Buffalo’s, but picked up valuable experience along the way.
Much is thought of the 20-year-old in both his homeland in Belgium and out in Portugal, and he is considered as a star for the future. Whether or not he would go straight into the Leeds first-team is yet to be seen, but Gary Monk seems intent on building his Leeds squad up for the tricky Championship campaign ahead.
Leeds travel to Loftus Road to face QPR on Sunday in their season opener.
