Leeds United fans in the Transfer Tavern will be disappointed with what is happening at Elland Road this summer and will want to make sure things get better ahead of the Championship season.
Marcelo Bielsa’s appointment would have brought a degree of ambition and confidence to the Whites, however, it appears the high-profile manager has not been able to match those expectations within the transfer market.
Leeds have been looking to improve their squad in a couple of key areas ahead of the upcoming Championship campaign, however, it appears that they have missed out on several of their key targets.
However, according to a report in the Yorkshire Evening Post, Bielsa may go back to Chelsea and try and bring another one of their talented stars to Elland Road, following the arrival of Lewis Baker.
The midfielder joined the Whites on a season-long loan deal and now the Argentine is hoping he can bring Jamal Blackman to the side as well, as he looks to bring in a suitable goalkeeper for their upcoming challenge.
The Chelsea ‘keeper would immediately help to improve the Leeds side as he impressed in the division with Sheffield United last season. The 24-year-old made 31 league appearances and helped guide the Blades to a 10th placed finish in the division.
With just Bailey Peacock-Farrell as their only recognised senior goalkeeper and deals for both Angus Gunn and David Stockdale seemingly unlikely, Blackman would be a smart choice for the Whites to try and bring to Elland Road.
