Leicester City preparing to recall Harvey Barnes in January

West Bromwich Albion could lose one of this season’s standout performers in January.

A report by The Express and Star is claiming that Leicester City are planning to use their option to recall Harvey Barnes early from his loan spell.

The winger, who has been thriving in a number 10 role for the Baggies, has netted five times for The Hawthorns outfit and has helped guide them to second place in the Championship.

Darren Moore would obviously have liked to have kept him at the club for the duration of the season and it is understood that there could still be a chance for that to happen.

However, at the moment, it is believed Claude Puel and the Foxes are planning for him to make a return to the King Power Stadium and help improve their own attacking options heading into the second half of the Premier League campaign.

The Verdict:

This news will have come as a huge blow to West Brom and they will be hoping that it does not come to fruition in January.

Barnes has been one of their standouts this season and has been a huge influence on where Moore’s side currently sit in the Championship rankings.

However, should he head back to Leicester, the Baggies will have Bakary Sako to be a replacement for him, after they recently signed him on a free transfer.
