Leeds United will be desperate to ensure consistency throughout the month of January as it could have a huge say on their push for automatic promotion.
The Whites have arguably been one of the dominant forces in the Championship so far this season, but they failed to start the New Year off with a bang as they were beaten by Nottingham Forest earlier on today.
Interestingly, the Yorkshire club managed to secure a player agreement earlier on today, as according to Leeds United’s official website, Mallik Wilks has signed a new deal.
Mallik Wilks has signed a new deal at Leeds United, which will keep hin at Elland Road until June 2022.
Indeed, the 20-year-old made his debut for the club in 2017 and has impressed on loan at League One side Doncaster Rovers this season, scoring eight times so far.
The impressive forward will now spend the second half of the season on loan at the Keepmoat Stadium, before returning back to Elland Road to face his next challenge.
Mallik Wilks has all the ingredients to become a future star at Leeds United, with an impressive amount of goals already to his name this season at Doncaster.
The Whites have given Tyler Roberts a chance in the current campaign, so perhaps Wilks will be able to work his way into Marcelo Bielsa’s plans if he impressed during the second half of the season.
