Leeds United could look to strengthen their squad in January as they look to continue their promotion efforts to the Premier League.
The Whites are currently in and amongst the leaders of the Championship at the moment, however, they will likely need to add bodies in certain areas to ensure they remain the pace and have the ability to go the distance this season.
One area that Marcelo Bielsa could look to target is in defence, as it appears as though he has a lack of options at times, especially at centre-back.
The Elland Road outfit only have Liam Cooper and Pontus Jansson as their recognised men, however, reports in Argentina are linking them with an exciting prospect that could help to improve their situation at the back.
According to AS, Bielsa is in the hunt for Tottenham Hotspur’s Juan Foyth this January after reports have emerged suggesting he could be prepared to leave the Premier League outfit due to a lack of playing time.
The report does not state whether a move for the 20-year-old would be on a permanent basis or if they would look to make an initial loan deal.
There is no doubt that Foyth is an exciting prospect and would be an excellent addition for Leeds and Bielsa should they be able to sign him.
The centre-back would certainly add extra options to the backline and under the guidance of the Argentine manager, would almost definitely develop into a better player, whilst being given the minutes on the field he currently lacks at Spurs.
However, Mauricio Pochettino could look to offer him invaluable game-time in the next few months as he has his own injury concerns, which could make it difficult for the Elland Road outfit to try and add him in the winter.
