There is no doubt that Marcelo Bielsa has done an incredible job at Leeds United this season.
The Argentine has got the Championship outfit looking strong and a real contender for promotion to the Premier League – something the fans have long awaited.
However, his efforts at Elland Road are not thought to have gone unnoticed, with reports claiming clubs could be interested in his services despite only being at Leeds for half a season.
Atalanta United are one of those thought to have been interested, as they will need to replace Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino, however, their president has denied claims that they will go for Bielsa, stating ‘absolutely not’.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Darren Eales said: “Absolutely not. As far as I’m aware he’s managing Leeds at the moment, so I’m not sure where that’s come from.
“There may be a misconception because I was talking about style of play and I said, “If you look at Tata Martino, Mauricio Pochettino, when I was at Tottenham, he talked about Bielsa’s style of play.”
“They’ve all come from that tree of Marcelo Bielsa and Newell’s Old Boys and what he did there.
“I think someone may have got the wrong end of the stick, clearly not. He’s coaching at Leeds. He’s not someone that we’d be thinking about.”
Although Bielsa does come across as a man that will want to see the job through at Elland Road, Leeds fans will be encouraged by the comments from Atalanta.
The Argentine has been incredible for the Whites this season and has certainly looked to give the club a new lease of life in their attempts to finally get back to the Premier League.
Bielsa is always likely going to attract interest, as is a natural thing to do when doing well, but it appears he will be in Yorkshire for the time being.
