Leeds United are thought to still be in the loan market for additions this summer, although one man does not appear to be any closer to joining the Whites.
According to a report by the Yorkshire Evening Post, the Elland Road outfit had made contact with Everton about taking Matthew Pennington on loan again, who is keen on a move, however, a couple of weeks have passed and no movement has been made.
It is understood that Marcelo Bielsa is not keen on bringing another defender to the club this summer, and in fact is looking at a different position to strengthen.
The Yorkshire Evening Post are claiming that the Argentine is considering to bring in another winger to the club as they continue to scout for wide-men as they look to have a suitable replacement for Samu Saiz, should the worse happen.
Leeds have already started their Championship season to a flyer, having yet to taste defeat and currently sit top of the division after four matches.
A move for Pennington does not appear to be at the forefront of Bielsa’s mind at the moment and it may be a switch that does not happen.
Despite their concerns at the back, with a lack of suitable options to cover, it appears that the Argentine is focused on other areas of his squad.
However, with the transfer deadline coming up next week, it remains to be seen if Leeds do bring in a winger, or if they do return for Pennington.
