Member of Leeds’ backroom staff in attendance at Coventry City – Bristol Rovers clash - Championship

It would not be surprising to see a number of changes at Leeds United this summer, regardless of the division they are playing their football in. A number of names will likely be offloaded, whilst Marcelo Bielsa will also want to add a few additions to his squad to improve things and provide him with some extra options.

What might be surprising is that the Elland Road outfit have been looking at talent in a division lower than them for potential targets.

What’s the News?

According to a report by the Bristol Post, Leeds had a backroom member of staff watching the League One clash between Coventry City and Bristol Rovers on Sunday at the Ricoh Arena.

The report suggests that it was unclear who the Championship outfit could have been keeping tabs on, although a number of names were highlighted as possible targets.

Jonson Clarke-Harris, Jack Bonham, Jordy Hiwula, Bright Enobakhare and Luke Thomas have all been mentioned as players who could attract interest in the summer after producing a number of impressive performances this season.

The Verdict:

There appear to be a number of names that Leeds could have been keeping tabs on, although it would have to be pure speculation about who they could be focusing on.

Clarke-Harris could be a rather obvious target for the Whites in the summer as the Bristol Rovers’ forward has been in fine form during the current League One campaign. The 24-year-old has 15 goals to his name, whilst his hold-up play and his recent performances will have further highlighted what he can bring to the table.

Bonham could also be on their radar as the goalkeeper is likely to be available on a free transfer in the summer as his contract expires with Brentford. Currently on loan with Rovers’, the shot-stopper has kept 17 clean sheets during his time at the Memorial Stadium and has made a number of crucial saves. However, with Kiko Casilla and Bailey Peacock-Farrell already in the team, and a number of excellent prospects in the academy, it would seem unlikely.

Hiwula is another attacker that has been in fine form this season, leading the goalscoring charts for Coventry with his 10, and he could be a player that the Elland Road take a look at in detail. The Whites are thought to be in need of a wide player and the 24-year-old could be someone who fits the bill as he clearly has the ability to find the net and create a number of chances.

Enobakhare, who is a Wolverhampton Wanderers academy graduate, and Thomas, a Derby County loanee, have both been impressing whilst on loan at the Sky Blues and could attract some interest.

Leeds fans, what do you make of the club scouting players involved in the game between Coventry and Bristol Rovers? Does Clarke-Harris seem to be the most obvious target? Join in with the discussion below by sharing your thoughts with us.
