The Santos player has long been linked with a move away from the club, mostly to Barcelona. The majority of people feel that the Catalan club would be perfect for the youngster who has been tipped to eventually become the best in the world. However, Chelsea and Manchester City are also hoping to land the player in the future.
Neymar reiterated that he wished to stay at Santos for the foreseeable future, claiming a move to Europe is: “Offered to every player nowadays. I didn’t seek it. I preferred to play for Santos and be with my friends and family. I’m under contract until 2014 and I intend to play it out.”
He did however accept that eventually a move would be made, and claimed that there is one manager he would like to work under – Pep Guardiola. Neymar gushed: “He’s a great coach. I would like to work with him one day, after everything he did at Barcelona.”
Of course why just praise Pep when you could also praise Lionel Messi, and Neymar did exactly that, noting: “I don’t know Messi. I’ve only seen him at the odd event, like this one and greeted him to be polite. For me, he’s the best in the world.”
