You would be forgiven if you already thought Norwich City had one foot in the Premier League next season! The Canaries sit comfortably at the top of the Championship table with just a handful of games to go and Daniel Farke’s side does not show any signs of letting up at the moment.
With the club likely to be planning their business for the summer already in regards to potential acquisitions with top-flight football in the rear mirror, one exciting name appears to have cropped up on their radar.
What’s the News?
According to a report by Greek media outlet SDNA, Norwich are believed to be interested in bringing Olympiacos winger Georgios Masouras to Carrow Road.
The 25-year-old has been extremely impressive this season for the Greek giants, having netted 10 times across all competitions this season and leading to a call up to the National Team over the past two international breaks.
However, Norwich could find it difficult, or expensive, to sign him as he has only been at the Athens-based outfit for a matter of months following a January move from Panionios.
With the way things are currently going, Norwich must be feeling confident that they can start to plan transfer targets for the summer as if they were ready to make a return to the Premier League.
Masouras is an exciting player and one that could certainly help to add some further creativity and goalscoring ability to a side that already has the likes of Teemu Pukki and Emiliano Buendia in their ranks, who have both been brilliant at the club.
As mentioned, the 25-year-old appears to have come into his own recently and has really become an impressive player going forward and could offer Farke’s side plenty of options in terms of the versatility he has to offer.
He can play on either flank or as a second striker and has experience of playing in some of Europe’s biggest club competitions as he featured in this year’s Europa League for Panionios before securing a winter move to Olympiacos.
However, that could be a problem for Norwich as it whether the Athens outfit would be prepared to let him go just months after signing him remains to be seen.
Norwich fans, do you think Masouras could turn out to be another gem for the club to acquire through the scouting network? Do you think it could be difficult to sign him in the summer? Join in with the discussion below by sharing your thoughts with us.
