Nottingham Forest came back from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw against Birmingham City at the City Ground yesterday.
Forest have displayed moments of promise so far this season, but they seem to let themselves down defensively as they continue to miss out on valuable points. Although, it appears as if Aitor Karanka is looking to bolster his squad, as according to Nottingham Post (via HITC), Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Rudy Gestede.
The Championship club are claimed to be interested in signing Middlesbrough striker Rudy Gestede on loan this summer.
Also, Karanka has a number of other targets on his list that include Norwich City’s Nelson Oliveira, Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham and Bournemouth’s Jermain Defoe.
Gestede is a proven striker at the Championship level, and the former Aston Villa man would be a good signing for Forest on loan.
Rudy Gestede would be a good signing for Forest as they are currently lacking a tall presence in the opposition’s box with crosses flying in. And, having shown before that he can score goals on regular basis in the Championship, he could help them climb up the table to challenge for a play-off spot.
The Middlesbrough forward hasn’t been able to work his way into Tony Pulis’ plans so far this season, so a move away on loan could be in the offing.
