Aitor Karanka has been working hard this summer to turn his Nottingham Forest side into a competitive force for the upcoming Championship.
The Spaniard has already brought in a number of quality additions this summer to help improve on last season’s disappointing campaign and has certainly made the most of his first summer transfer window in charge of the City Ground outfit.
However, he may have just added the best player to his squad, with reports in the Daily Mail stating that the club are in an agreement with a Premier League side to bring a midfielder to the club.
The Reds have managed to secure the signature of Newcastle United’s Jack Colback on a season-long loan following a successful spell with the club towards the end of last year’s campaign.
The 28-year-old had been reported to be Karanka’s top target this summer after learning that he was not needed at the Magpies and will be delighted to have brought him back on board.
The signing of Colback will be huge for Nottingham Forest and will be a huge boost to their chances of competing for a spot in the Premier League.
The midfielder is a very good player at the Championship level and should prove to be a smart signing for the Reds.
Karanka has shown a real intent this summer and Forest will feel confident that they can have a successful season under the Spaniard’s guidance.
