Nottingham Forest take ex-England stopper on trial

robinson.jpgNottingham Forest fans have been an optimistic bunch of late here in the Transfer Tavern as their side currently sit on a run of nine games without a defeat.

The Reds have not tasted the bitterness of defeat since a 2-1 reverse at Brentford back on the 21st November with things finally starting to look up once again for the Reds.

One Forest fan is relaxing with a pint of the cold stuff, when he comes across a snippet of information, confirmed by BBC Radio Nottingham, that says ex-England international goalkeeper Paul Robinson is on trial with the club.

The custodian has been out of work since leaving Blackburn Rovers in the summer and has donned the gloves once again to try and impress Forest boss Dougie Freedman.

Forest have been searching for some experienced back up to in-form number one Dorus de Vries since the start of the season and Robinson could be just the man they need.

One Forest supporter believes the move will be a good one, mainly as it will allow the club to loan out highly-rated young goalkeeper Dimitar Evtimov, who desperately needs first-team games for his development, a statement our landlord agrees with.

Forest fans… Would you welcome Robinson? Let us know in the comments below!
