Panagiotis Tachtsidis expected to become Nottingham Forest player

Nottingham Forest are thought to be on the verge of completing their 15th transfer of the summer, as Aitor Karanka continues his rebuild of the squad.

According to a report by the Nottingham Post, Panagiotis Tachtsidis could join up with The City Ground outfit on a free transfer.

The Greece international midfielder is currently a free agent, following his departure from Olympiakos and is allowed to make a switch to the Championship club despite the closure of the transfer window.

The 27-year-old could be named in the side before their next match, which is against Swansea City once the international break is over.

An experienced midfielder, Tachtsidis has played for the likes of AS Roma, Torino and AEK Athens, where he came through the academy ranks and was once became the youngest ever player to appear for the Greek side.

The Verdict:

Tachtsidis is an experienced player, having spent time at ten different clubs over the course of the last decade and would help to provide a huge amount of knowledge to Karanka’s side.

The player is not shy to getting stuck in, with his disciplinary record leaving some to have a slight concern about how he will cope in the Championship.

There may also be some concerns over how often he moves from club to club and Forest will be hoping that he can find some stability with them and help them with their efforts of winning promotion to the Premier League.
