‘Poor decision’ – Loads of Leeds fans aren’t happy with Phil Hay’s update

The Leeds fans in the Transfer Tavern have been lamenting the clubs decision to let Lewie Coyle leave on-loan to Fleetwood. The young right-back spent all of last season at Highbury Stadium and will now, according to Phil Hay on Twitter, be spending the first-half of the upcoming season back in League One.

This season promises to be a good one for the Whites. Marcelo Bielsa is in charge and the fans are really getting their hopes up of promotion, with the Argentine tasked with ending the clubs 15-year spell outside of the top-flight, the longest spell in their history. However, the Elland Road faithful would have been hoping Coyle would play a big role this season as he impressed everyone last year.

This won’t be the case though as Bielsa has approved the loan move for the young right-back to leave for the first-half of the season, trusting Luke Ayling and Gaetano Berardi to share the right-back slot for the season and giving the club a chance to assess Coyle’s progress. The fans have high hopes for Coyle and it will be interesting to see whether he can live up to the potential that so many fans are touting him to have.
