QPR ace leaves door open for Premier League move in January

Charlie AustinThe latest news milling about the Transfer Tavern has not only got our punters excited, but also Premier League clubs, with Talksport reporting that Charlie Austin is not ruling out a move away from Queens Park Rangers in January.

Indeed, while Austin insists that he remains committed to Loftus Road, he was quoted as saying that should something come about in January that suited him and his family, he would certainly reassess the situation.

Austin’s choice to stay at Loftus Road in the summer was one that surprised many. Austin finished last season as the League’s fourth top goalscorer, with an impressive 18 goals, but this was still not enough for the Hoops to avoid the drop.

Many thought that his impressive form would see him secure another move to a Premier League club with ease. But despite being linked to the likes of West Ham United, Newcastle United and even Manchester United, nothing materialised.

With QPR 8 points away from the play offs, promotion could be looking less likely, and Tony Fernandes now has a difficult decision to make. He could choose to cash in on his key man, and risk his promotion chances, or face the prospect of losing Austin for a free altogether in the summer.

QPR fans, how much would you sell Austin for? Let us know in the comments below!
