Our Birmingham fans here in the Transfer Tavern are still optimistic about the upcoming season despite their setback with John Terry.
Indeed, the Blues missed out on signing the defender to rivals Aston Villa but they should feel confident that they can still sign good players with Harry Redknapp in charge.
Indeed, the former Spurs manager knows the market very well and will be eager to bring in players who can help fire the club back into the Premier League.
And, as quoted by the Mirror, the Blues’ boss has refused to rule out a move for veteran striker Robbie Keane.
The Irish star has plenty of experience of scoring goals and would surely fire plenty in during a Championship season with him, of course, knowing Harry Redknapp from their Spurs days.
And, for Redknapp, he can’t rule out a potential deal for the forward.
“He is just a fantastic professional footballer, a great trainer, enthusiastic person, an absolutely buzzy character.
“We haven’t spoken to Robbie but I wouldn’t want to be a liar and say I’m not interested in him and then two weeks later bring him in.”
The Blues may have missed out on Terry, then, but they will surely be happy enough if someone like Keane rocks up at the club.
