Leeds United fans in the Transfer Tavern will be excited to see what changes Marcelo Bielsa will make when he arrives as the new manager and will not have to wait long for new personnel to follow him to Elland Road.
The former Argentina and Chile manager is expected to fly into England later this week and is set to appoint five new men to his backroom staff as he looks to bring his philosophy to the Whites. According to a report in the Yorkshire Evening Post, he is expected to bring a number of men he knows well, having worked with them throughout his career.
The first man to have been identified is Pablo Quiroga, whose expertise lies within video analysis, having worked together at Athletic Bilbao, Olympique de Marseille and Lille.
Diego Reyes is another man that has closely followed the new Leeds manager throughout his career, whilst Diego Flores has only been working with Bielsa in recent years.
Salim Lamrani is expected to join him at Elland Road this summer as his translator, a role that he has had since the manager was in charge at Lille, however, it is unsure who his fitness coach will be, as it is understood Gabriel Macaya is unlikely to join him in England.
The Leeds fans in the Tavern will have been expecting Bielsa to make a number of changes to his backroom staff and would have been delighted that the club are wasting no time in making a handful of appointments.
The fact that the members of staff have all worked with each other for a number of years will give the locals in the bar some confidence going forward and they will hope the new team can transform their club’s fortunes.
