Under Brendan Rodgers, the Celtic fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been delighted to see some talents brought in from the cold and improved by his coaching.
Indeed, the Bhoys in the bar weren’t overly excited by either Stuart Armstrong or Patrick Roberts prior to his arrival, though the former Liverpool coach has made both players huge parts of his Celtic set-up with hard work on the training pitch.
Which is exactly why our punters clad in green and white are willing to consider any fringe player as a potential big talent, so reports from the Glasgow Evening Times have actually proven rather interesting.
They claim the club are in talks with Dundee over Scott Allan’s situation, following the midfielder’s groin surgery. Having joined the Dee on loan earlier this year, the 25-year-old was expected to kick on, though has had to go under the knife in order to rid himself of a niggling injury.
Now, the two Scottish clubs are thought to be discussing as to where the former Hibernian playmaker will undergo his rehab after the surgery, with Celtic having the choice.
It’s a real shame for Allan. While clearly a big talent, the midfielder just can’t catch a break right now, so perhaps leaving him with Dundee would help ease him back before kicking on for the rest of the campaign.
