Report: Leeds hit dead end as they look to solve huge Bielsa issue

The Leeds United fans in the Transfer Tavern will be disappointed that the club are no closer to bringing a goalkeeper to Elland Road this summer.

Marcelo Bielsa is desperate to add a reliable shot-stopper to his squad during the transfer window to ensure they are competitive once the upcoming Championship season begins.

It is believed that Bailey Peacock-Farrell will be the only senior goalkeeper at Elland Road soon, with Felix Wiedwald having already departed, whilst Andy Lonergan is not expected to remain with the Whites for much longer.

The club have been actively linked with a number of names recently, however, according to a report in the Yorkshire Evening Post, it appears one of those will not be joining Bielsa this summer.

It has been stated that a deal for David Stockdale has hit a dead end as both Leeds and Birmingham City are not prepared to budge from their demands. The Whites want to bring the experienced ‘keeper on loan with a view to a permanent deal, whilst the Blues want to offload him straight away.

Landlord’s Verdict

The Leeds fans in the Tavern will be hoping the club has a backup plan for another goalkeeper in place as they appear to have hit a stumbling block for Stockdale.

The locals in the bar will be disappointed that they have not managed to bring the experienced player to Elland Road, as he would have certainly helped them become more solid at the back, however, they will now hope the Whites can bring someone else in as quickly as possible.
