Leeds United fans in the Transfer Tavern will be pleased with the developments currently be made by the club in the transfer market this summer.
The Whites are desperate to strength a few areas before they head into the Championship season, with new manager Marcelo Bielsa keen to get them challenging for Premier League football.
It is believed that all core areas on the pitch have been identified with a need for improving and according to a report in the Yorkshire Evening Post, the Elland Road outfit have found a central midfielder that would help them instantly become better.
It is being claimed that Leeds have made a move to sign Chelsea’s Lewis Baker and are in advanced talks about a deal, following his impressive loan spells away from Stamford Bridge. The 23-year-old is yet to make a start for the Blues, however, he has been held in high regard and has excelled for England when he was in the Under-21’s.
A move for Baker would make sense for all involved as Bielsa looks to strengthen his midfield options. The 23-year-old would certainly get regular first-team football at the Whites and would be able to settle down and focus on the long-term aspects of his game if he were to complete a permanent move and would benefit from playing under the tutelage of the new Elland Road chief.
The locals would be delighted to have him in their side, and if they were to bring their other targets to Yorkshire this summer, many will feel that they are with in a great chance of achieving promotion from the Championship.
