Report: Leeds make contact about prolific striker that would get Bielsa’s side firing

Leeds United fans in the Transfer Tavern would be forgiven for being excited with what could happen at the club following the arrival of Marcelo Bielsa.

The Chilean manager was appointed last week and the locals in the bar will be hoping he can use his links and name as a way of trying to bring some talented players to Elland Road this summer.

The Whites are understood to be in the transfer market for a number of additions across the pitch and it is believed they have contacted one of their Championship rivals for their prolific goalscorer.

According to a report by The Daily Mirror, Leeds have made contact with Derby County about the availability of Matej Vydra. The Rams are in a position of trying to cut their wage bill and it is believed the striker will be one of the first to be offloaded.

It is thought that Bielsa holds a firm interest in the Czech Republic international and the locals will be hoping to see him at Elland Road for the beginning of the season.

Landlord’s Verdict

The signing makes complete sense for Leeds to try and get done. Vydra is a proven goalscorer at the Championship level, having netted 21 times and leading the charts and the Whites should do all they can to take advantage.

The locals are desperate for the side to add firepower to their squad and a player of his quality does not always come onto the market, so the residents will feel Leeds need to act upon it now.
