Leeds United fans here in the Tavern will be hoping that their side can secure promotion next season, but they will need to appoint a new manager at some point in the near future.
The Whites will be desperate to start the next campaign strongly with aims of securing promotion to the Premier League. And, it looks as if they’re looking to strengthen to help aid their promotion push, as according to The Sun on Sunday (June 10th, page 60) (via HITC), Matej Vydra is a £10 million target for Leeds United.
Indeed, it’s claimed that Matej Vydra could be sold by Derby County to help raise funds for Frank Lampard.
And, Leeds United appear to be interested in landing the Championship golden boot winner, who was prolific last season in the Championship, with 22 goals to his name.
However, it’s understood that the striker might head to Elland Road in a cash-plus-player deal with Leeds left-back Tom Pearce.
Indeed, Caleb Ekuban failed to ensure consistency last season as he received criticism at times, so Leeds United may be looking to move for Vydra as an upgrade, with the Italian possibly being sent out on loan or dropping to the substitutes’ bench. But, many of our local residents are delighted with the Whites’ interest in Vydra, as he was prolific last season and was crowned the Championship’s top scorer.
