Leeds United fans in the Transfer Tavern will be excited with the news about a possible managerial candidate which has emerged in the past 24 hours.
Paul Heckingbottom’s future at Elland Road has been in doubt for a while, despite the fact he only took over from Thomas Christensen in February.
However, reports in Italy have now started to link Filippo Inzaghi with the top job at Elland Road, with the club keen to bring him to Yorkshire according to a very surprising report.
Italian media outlet Corriere di Bologna (via The Sack Race), are claiming that Leeds have made an approach for the former AC Milan forward about the possibility of taking over at the club, and the fact his contract with Venezia is due to expire in a couple of weeks suggests he could open to a move to the club.
Reports linking Inzaghi with the managers role at Leeds have confused plenty of the locals in the Tavern as although many would welcome him with open arms, he would be a hugely surprising appointment.
The punters in the bar will also be concerned by Inzaghi’s lack of experience in English football and will feel that his shortcomings in this regard will tarnish their chances of returning to the Premier League next season.
