Sheffield United failed to secure a positive result yesterday as they were beaten by 1-0 by Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.
The Blades will still have their sights set on securing an automatic promotion place in the current campaign, despite dropping off the pace in yesterday.
And, it appears as if Chris Wilder may wave goodbye to one of his attackers at some point in the future, as according to the Oxford Mail, Ricky Holmes could return to Oxford United in the future.
Indeed, the attacker has returned to Bramall Lane with a back injury, and manager Karl Robinson has admitted that if Holmes can get fit, he could be of use to Oxford United in the final weeks of the current campaign.
It’s thought that the club are in negotiations with the Blades about a different type of contract for Holmes which would see a change in the way his wages are paid.
He hasn’t done enough to warrant regular football at Bramall Lane once he returns from injury, so another loan move will inevitably be in the offing.
Ricky Holmes has been very impressive in the current campaign at the Kassam Stadium, scoring four goals.
It looks as if the Englishman could be on the move once he returns from injury as Wilder won’t be able to provide him with regular minutes, and Robinson has already opened the door for a potential return to Oxford United.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
