Many Leeds United fans still can’t believe how far their side have come in the current campaign after struggling under Paul Heckingbottom and Thomas Christiansen last season, with promotion to the Premier League now well within their sights.
However, one player who probably won’t play a part for Leeds next season is Samu Saiz, as according to TEAMtalk, the Spaniard will look to move to another La Liga club in the summer.
What’s the News?
The attacking star left Elland Road at the end of December to secure a loan switch to Getafe, which was due (as per TEAMtalk) to become a permanent £6 million switch.
Interestingly, there had been some rumours that Getafe could look to cancel his short-term deal but it’s understood that this is impossible as there is no break-clause in his contract.
His loan club Getafe do not have to buy him permanently and they are expected to turn their back on a permanent deal. And, it’s believed that Saiz will try and secure a move elsewhere in La Liga if this is the case.
So, Leeds look set to lose Saiz in the summer transfer window, with the Spanish star already eyeing up a summer move to La Liga if Getafe decide against signing him permanently.
Samu Saiz established himself as a star during his first season at Elland Road as he managed to produce nine goals and eight assists, but things have changed in the current campaign as he’s spent the second half of the season on loan at Getafe after failing to impress under Marcelo Bielsa.
He’s extremely talented and has already shown that he can become a star in the Championship, but his lack of quality and attitude let him down this season.
Many Leeds supporters have loved what Tyler Roberts has brought to the side in recent weeks in his newly-found attacking midfield role, so Saiz looking for a summer move back to Spain won’t bother them at all.
Leeds United fans, do you think Saiz is making the right decision by looking for a move away in the summer? Join the discussion by commenting below.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
