Sheffield Wednesday were held to a draw by Stoke City at Hillsborough on Saturday in what was a rather promising match.
The Owls will be desperate to push for a play-off place in the current campaign, but they have lacked consistency and will need to seek improvements to do so. Although, they did wave goodbye to a player recently, as according to BBC Sport, Sean Clare revealed he had ‘really taken his time’ over the decision to make the move north of the border to Hearts.
Clare had rejected fresh terms from the Owls having made an impact in the latter half of last season.
So, he opted to move north of the border as he’s set to tackle Scottish Premiership football.
“He’s a Sheffield Wednesday player essentially because he is still subject to training compensation, and we are just trying to get that whole thing sorted out.”
Sheffield Wednesday will be gutted to see such a special talent depart, but his intentions were clear once he rejected the chance to sign a new deal.
However, the Owls will be more focused on climbing up the Championship table after a rather inconsistent start to their campaign, with a play-off place still being a target for Jos Luhukay’s side.
