Steve Bruce really has got Sheffield Wednesday fans smiling again as they continue to improve in the Championship, with their unbeaten run still intact.
Of course, things are going rather swimmingly at this moment in time but Bruce will be desperate to add his own touch to his side, so the summer transfer window could be interesting for everyone involved.
And, it doesn’t look as if he’s waiting around with a possible addition already lined up.
What’s the news?
Steve Bruce is hoping to sign Sunderland’s Lee Cattermole for a third time in his career with Sheffield Wednesday interested in bringing him in on loan in the summer, according to The Sun on Sunday (10/03; page 61) (via HITC).
Interestingly, the Owls prepared to pay a large portion of his wages to try and sweeten a potential bid.
The central midfielder has produced an impressive five goals from the middle of midfield this season, as well as doing a solid job in stopping the opposition and linking defence to attack at the Stadium of Light.
It’s safe to say that Cattermole could be a game-changing signing for the Owls as he would provide a wealth of experience, as well as leadership qualities and a solid relationship with Bruce.
Although, many Sheffield Wednesday fans may be hoping for more exciting signings, but they shouldn’t undermine the quality of Cattermole as he has all the qualities to become a key performer at the heart of the midfield, with Sam Hutchinson liable to injury and a lack of options at Bruce’s disposal.
Sheffield Wednesday fans, do you wanna see Cattermole at Hillsborough?
