Sheffield Wednesday want Danny Batth

Sheffield Wednesday will be looking to make improvements to their squad before Friday’s transfer deadline after a difficult summer.

According to a report by The Daily Mirror, Danny Batth is attracting interest from the Owls as they look to add to their defence.

Jos Luhukay is desperate to add reinforcements to his backline and the Wolverhampton Wanderers enforcer would be considered a great signing to make, although they will face stiff competition for him from Leeds United.

The £900k-rated player, as per Transfermarkt, has history with Wednesday, having played for the Hillsborough outfit on two separate occasions.

The 27-year-old is thought to be surplus to requirements at Wolves under Nuno Espirito Santo this season and has seen the number of opportunities to play deteriorate in the last couple of campaigns.

Batth has fallen further down the pecking order following some of the signings the Molineux outfit have made and could reinvent himself with a spell back at the Owls this summer.

The Verdict:

Sheffield Wednesday certainly need to bring in a couple of players before Friday’s transfer deadline and Batth would be a great addition.

He will already have a sense of what the expectations of the club are following his previous spells in Yorkshire and will also have a vast amount of added experience to offer the Owls.

However, he may decide to head to their Yorkshire rivals Leeds, as they look to compete for a Premier League place next season.
