Steve Bruce being lined up for Sheffield Wednesday job

Sheffield Wednesday appear to be moving at a rapid pace this winter.

News had started to emerge from Holland on Friday stating that Jos Luhukay had been fired from his role at Hillsborough.

And reports within the English media appearing to be backing those claims, with one in particular suggesting who could be installed as the new boss.

The Sun are claiming Steve Bruce is favourite to take over at the Owls and will be handed a £2million-a-year contract to bring him back into management.

Considered a promotion specialist, the former Aston Villa boss is on a break after being given his marching orders from the club earlier in the season.

If he does take over, it is expected that he will be followed by his backroom team of Steve Agnew and Stephen Clemence, although they could be at the club before Bruce.

The Verdict:

Bruce would certainly be a great addition for Sheffield Wednesday to consider and one that could help to turn things around.

The Owls currently find themselves in a spot of bother in the Championship, having won just one of their last ten matches and have fallen sharply towards the relegation zone.

Things are far from certain at Hillsborough at the moment though, with owner Dejphon Chansiri considering to sell the club amid concerns of financial fair play regulations.
