Vurnon Anita set to end Leeds stay

Marcelo Bielsa looks ready to wield the axe at Leeds United once again this summer as another player is closing on a move away from Elland Road.

According to a report by NOS, Vurnon Anita is thought to be on the verge of sealing a move back to his homeland with a switch to Willem II in the Eredivisie.

It is believed that the former Newcastle United midfielder does not feature in Bielsa’s plans this season and is keen to offload the player that he deems surplus to requirements.

Having not yet featured for the Whites, there is clearly no future for the 29-year-old at Elland Road and a return to Holland could be welcomed by the player.

Anita has struggled to make a real impact at Leeds following his arrival from Newcastle last summer and has also had a torrid time with injuries, which have limited his chances to make an impression.

The Verdict:

A move always appeared on the cards for Anita and it looks as though he could be about to return to Holland.

The £3.15million-rated midfielder, as per Transfermarkt, will have been looking for a new club for a while as Bielsa made it clear that he is not a part of his plans for the side.

Anita will be looking to get his career back underway when he returns to Holland and will be looking forget about his nightmare time at Leeds.
