West Bromwich Albion managed to secure victory against Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup yesterday, which will be sure to give them confidence as they head into their next Championship fixture.
The Baggies still find themselves in the race for an automatic promotion place, with a long way still to go in the current Championship campaign.
However, it looks as if Darren Moore is eyeing a possible swoop at this moment in time, as according to Sdna.Gr (via Sport Witness), West Brom are set to reignite their interest in Petros Mantalos.
It’s thought that Mantalos could be open to a move to West Brom, due to AEK’s poor start to the season, which includes their Champions League exit.
The attack-minded midfielder has made twenty-one appearances for AEK this season, scoring three goals and providing four assists, along with impressing on the international stage with Greece.
Indeed, the Baggies could definitely do with bringing in reinforcements in the middle of midfield, as a number of players have struggled to have much of an impact.
Petros Mantelos has the ability to impact the game in the final third having shown that he can provide goals and assists, along with helping out in defensive areas and in the middle of midfield with his passing ability.
The Greek international is also the current captain of AEK, so he will bring valuable experience and leadership qualities with him if he decides to make the move.
