West Bromwich Albion are keen on continuing to make additions to their squad, however, it looks as though one man could be difficult to sign.
The 20-year-old attacker has been impressing for Hednesford Town in the Northern Premier League, which has led to the Baggies and Darren Moore taking note.
However, it appears the non-league outfit are prepared to stand firm when it comes down to the availability of their star.
It is believed West Brom want to bring Archer to The Hawthorns on a trial before possibly signing him, however, Hednesford are thought to want a fee for the versatile attacker, something the Baggies are unlikely to do.
There are many talents throughout non-league and Archer certainly appears to be one of the latest names to make his way through the ranks.
It is understandable that Hednesford do not want to lose one of their star men, however, they should have allowed West Brom to have taken him on a trial basis without having to pay for him initially.
However, if the Baggies do badly want him, they should look to spend a small amount on the 20-year-old who, with the right development and training, could be the next ‘big-thing’ to have come out of the lower leagues.
