The Hull fans in the Transfer Tavern will surely be relieved about some news of transfers coming in.
At the same time that Andrew Robertson is reportedly leaving Hull to join Liverpool, Kevin Stewart is going the other way.
It is hard to pinpoint exactly what Stewart’s strengths and weaknesses are due to his lack of game time for the Reds, but our landlord thinks he is a decent signing for Hull and their fans seem to agree.
From what has been seen of the 23-year-old, his reading of the game is one of his best attributes.
He sees danger coming before it arrives and can use that to help Hull’s leaky defence from last season.
Stewart also enjoys playing long balls in from his deeper position which could be well utilised with players like Adama Diomande lurking up front.
His only weaknesses that have become apparent so far is that despite liking to play that long ball, his accuracy isn’t always up to par.
He’s also never had a consistent run in a proper first team even during his loan spells so will he be able to handle the pressure of trying to get Hull promoted the first time of asking?
If he can work on his passing and handle the pressure well enough, there is no reason he can’t be a massive success at the club.
